Bonjour! We made it to France!

We know it's going to be an adventurous time. Ofcourse Mike had to get us out the door on time - we were still adding this and that of things we know we couldn't live without!!!!!!
--->Waiting at DIA

We flew on Luftansa - Kat was worried that our bags would weigh to much and we'd be shuffling clothes at the ticket counter. The flight was a rough take off, and was uneventful if you don't count throwing our half-eaten turkey dinner upside down on the isle floor -(maybe sharing wasn't such a good idea!), and listening to three babies cry off and on for 10 hours (one almost literally cried for the entire 10 hours. Debbie helped out and really enjoyed carrying two of the babies around the cabin throughout the flight. The parents were very greatful to have a break.
With relatively NO sleep,the 5 hour lay-over in Frankfurt was going to be painful. Debbie managed to fall asleep on a bench and gave yet another crying baby a run for their money over who could be louder - crying or snoring? With the lack of sleep - Kathryn didn't have the heart to stop the obstreperous (really.....loud) snoring!!!!!!!!!!!

To get to the gate for our flight to Marsille took us to the far ends of the airport, going down back staircases and down a loooonnngg hallway, we couldn't help wondering: 'where are we going?.'

When it came time for boarding we were transported by a bus that took us for a 10 minute ride down the tarmac to our waiting airplane. The flight was quick, we sat next to a wonderful woman from Romania that was a ex-model in Milan travelling with her family for a ski holiday- we hope to keep in touch with her.

Once at Marsille airport we had no problems with our baggage, nor meeting up with Nathan, our Wycliffe contact. He brought us to our homey third story appartment just of north of the city center of Aix en Provence. Being completely exhausted, we fell right asleep! We woke up this morning around 4:30 a.m., with about 6 hours of sleep. We are going to try to make it through the day, but with a early night.
Kat's first impressions of jet lag: hungry every three hours- growling stomach and all. Can't get used to the new eating schedule.
Today we are going to walk to the city center to take in the sights! Our host family will be coming over around noon to bring us lunch and take us around Aix- really looking forward to the day.
